Allah created many males, but very few men. At this point today there are over 750 million males who testify to la ilaha ilAllah, but how many are true men? How many are men of purpose that live lives that will leave behind legacies for others to emulate? How many will be the most productive creatures of their time?
Is it a true man who walks with his trousers half way down his buttocks, has a big car and big house, yet sleeps through Fajr? Is it a true man that has 50 employees, a Ferrari and a wife, two even, yet when Allah calls him to pray 5 times a day, he cannot hear him? Is it Manhood to have the world and to forget who created it?
He, Subhanahu, said;
Men who are not distracted from the remembrance of Allah by trade and commerce and buying and selling, who stand by their devotional obligations and pay Zakah, who fear the day when hearts and eyes would flutter in trepidation.(24:37)
Allah makes it very clear who true men are here. Chromosomes make males and it is obedience to Allah that makes men of males! And this has always been the case; from the men around the messenger to the most productive men of our time.
What you will find brothers and sisters when you walk the corridors of history, is that the great rise of Islam was tied to men of great vision and conviction, who made the optimal use of their time and were as such the embodiment of productivity. Achieving so much in such little time, was a product of having clear purpose and pursuing it.
The Prophet Muhammad (may peace and blessings be upon Him) Said, ‘Everyone is helped by Allah for the purpose for which they were created’. (Bukhari)
Every single one of us have has a purpose. This is above the general purpose of creation; recognising and worshipping Allah. As, ultimately we were all created for worshipping Allah, from me to the device you are reading this article from.
There is a specific purpose for every single one of us, but the issue is, are we going to be those people who fulfill our purpose, or will we just die without having ever fulfilled it?
Take a moment and think, have you ever spent time considering why you were created? Have you ever thought about what your life is intended for and what you will achieve in it? Brothers and sisters I am sure many of us have spent more time planning what we will do and achieve in a holiday than what we thought we will achieve in life itself?
The power of understanding your personal purpose of creation is enormous. You will be free from the shackles of materialism and social pressures as you know what you, the servant of Allah, born on this day, in this place, are meant to achieve. And if you can figure that out, know that Allah will aid you, as we remember the messenger, said,‘Everyone is helped by Allah for the purpose for which they were created’.
Brothers and sisters do not confuse this message with a call to abandon the world around you, rather this is a call to understand the world around you. There is no shame in wealth or possessions, as long as you can have a relationship with those things in which they see them for what they are; things of mere entertainment and the true bliss is in the hereafter. If you can do this you will find you will not be driven by a chase to have them, but rather as you move towards your vision they will either come in your path or mean less to you. Nevertheless, you will be satisfied of them; So that if you have them or you do not, it makes no difference to you as you move toward your vision and specific purpose of creation.
Productivity at its best is directly linked to purpose. Ergo, if you can understand your purpose, you will naturally become the most productive human being there is; as you will know you are living a race against time to achieve your vision before the angel of death comes to visit you.
Consider the power of knowing your purpose from the life and way of the Messenger. When his uncle came to offer him the world, kingship over the Arabs and the best of wealth and women, he famously said, ‘If they were to put the sun in my right hand and the moon in the left, I would not leave this deen I am calling to.’
That is the power of purpose.
Brothers and sisters, when you know what you want, the individual on this site were created for, you will find not only will you become more productive in the short life you have, but you will become a true man/true woman, like those that Allah mentioned. Those who are ‘not distracted from the remembrance of Allah by trade and commerce and buying and selling, who stand by their devotional obligations and pay Zakah, who fear the day when hearts and eyes would flutter in trepidation. (Quran 24:37)’
Brothers and sisters, I am reminding you only of one thing, you have a specific purpose, and you must find it, and when you do you will find you are the most powerful and productive person imaginable. And this is what will make a productive Ummah.
The more people who find their purpose, the more productive an Ummah we will become. We must all be the change we want to see and we must seek to reach out to all those whom we can, and encourage them to think about their personal vision, as our Ummah will arise upon this, by the permission of Allah (Subhanahu wa Ta’ala).
The Ummah starts with each and everyone of us. Let us become visionaries and see our productivity rocket as individuals and how this will awaken the Ummah.
