Wa iyyakum Samira! :)

This part specifically talks about home assignments and presentations which are common in universities. In part-4, I have mentioned certain points about reading or preparing for exams, such as not memorizing, repeating the lessons (from what you have read) to others/discussing with others, and summarizing everything by highlighting the main points, or breaking down the reading materials into simple graphical representations, etc.

Reading is indispensable if you really wish to be knowledgeable. In fact, I have mentioned that in Part-4. Even if the teachers do not assign anything for you to read, you will still need to read a lot. You will need to read out of syllabus as well to gain knowledge. Honestly, I do not believe in education which is limited by syllabus, grades, jobs, etc. Surprisingly, this has been my secret to achieving A+ grades. I have always thought of implementation and research. I ask myself, “How can I apply something which I have read to the real world?” If you study because you want to study, because you want to know more, you will not only get good grades, but you will also be truly knowledgeable. And even if after all the reading, you don’t get good grades, you will still feel happy with the amount of knowledge you will have gained by reading.

Reading seems very overwhelming, but if you have the right motivation for studying, insha’Allah, you will be looking forward to reading (and studying, in general). Please refer to Part-1 of this series where I have mentioned the importance of education (both secular and Islamic).
