I feel it is direct contact with my Lord. I love to plead in my prayer and beg my Allah for forgiveness. It is amazing to focus in Salaah and forget all my troubles.

JazakiAllah khair for your kind words! Absolutely – being consistent is the key and is the discipline muscle we need to build. Thanks for the book reference, will check it out too .

This was a wonderful article underscoring the position – and the amazing side benefits of salah. And the Mercy of our Lord, in obligating this act of worship upon us. I too have been thinking about the point you made about salah, the adhaan and falah/success – and wanted to write a short social media post about this. My reflection was based around the idea that success, in the worldly realm too, comes from that which we do consistently, irrespective of whether we feel like it or not. So if you’re a writer for example, it’s the fact that you have a consistent writing routine (and that you show up to the routine whether you feel like it or not) that will bring success. Not a sometimes, every once in a while writing routine. And how Allah ties success to *consistency* in salah. Perhaps because Allah is teaching us that it is the consistency in any endeavour and showing up, irrespective of how we feel, that will anchor us and bring success, in dunya and aakhirah affairs. And Allah knows best.

Will share this widely inshaAllah. Thanks for the resources pertaining to salah at the end, too. A book I’m about to dive into on this topic is entitled ‘Rediscovering Prayer: Communicating With Allah’ by Bassam Saeh.
