Because of the chemicals they use to make the Food more durable or tasty or whatever . When you restrict yourself to only eat natural food without this chemicals, you can keep yourself from snacking all the time. Because you have less possibilities to do so.

Eating at right time, practicing fasting, eating slow, eating with company, eating less and eating nutritious and good food all this is a sunnah of our Prophet Mohammed (saw) and i just loved each and every bit of your article.

As quoted by a Muslim doctor, if man were to follow the following hadeeth;

Hadith Imam Ahmad recorded that Al-Miqdam bin Ma`dikarib Al-Kindi said that he heard the Messenger of Allah saying, The Son of Adam will not fill a pot worse for himself than his stomach. It is enough for the Son of Adam to eat a few bites that strengthens his spine. If he likes to have more, then let him fill a third with food, a third with drink and leave a third for his breathing.

then many of the pharmacies would be closed. Its so true, excessive eating has caused a number of diseases and list keeps getting long.
Once we are able to control the Nafs related to eating food then we will be able to conquer most of our desires.
“Your Food is your best Medicine”.

May Allah (swt) reward you for this work ! I have a question, how do we implement 1/3 for food, 1/3 for water and 1/3 for air practically ?

Wa alaikum assalaam wa rahmatullah!
Here’s a couple ways to try:
– for every bite you take, drink a long sip of water
– for everyone mouthful you eat, drink a large gulp of water
… I find that if I’m eating a meal and drink about 3 glasses of water my food intake and hunger is more proportioned.
Let me know what works for you :)
