Mashaa Allah what a great benefitting advise to avoid distractions in our prayer.
Really we must make a habit of talking to Allah daily and taking his guidance and advise in our lives.
We need Allah`s guidance to move on and take the right decisions in our lives.
Somewhere i listened whenever you sin offer two nafeel rakahs for repenting Allah and asking him to forgive you for that sin in this way we are made to offer many nafeels and slowly we stop committing wrong and doing isitikhara is one more great idea to banish distractions from our minds while we are offering prayer.

I can totally relate because I often struggle fitting in duuhur prayer into my busy schedule
Your tips are definitely useful, especially point number 2
I have created a praying space next to my office to encourage myself and my colleagues to pray, when I find that I am slacking I often ask my colleagues to force me to get up and pray as soon as they are done
