It is said differently, but concludes same, by Ali ibn Abi Talib (Gate of City of Knowledge of Hazrat Muhammad s.a.w.w). He said:
“Whoever shortens his hopes, beautifies his actions.”, he also said:
“Whoever lengthens his hopes, corrupts his action”

I would also put the importance of “being content”. As being content means that you are thankful to Allah for the blessings he had made on you. Hazrat Ali also said:

“The wealthiest of all people is the contented one.”
“The contented one is rich, even if he is hungry and unclothed.”
“Contentment is the [path to the] most comfortable lifestyle.”

Hi,
My name is Abdullah. I am 15 years old. I am having a tough time deciding whether I should get acl now or next year but they both have their risks. If I delay until next year, the chances of knee damage for other ligaments can be permanent. If I do now, there is a small possibility that they will disturb my growth plate in my which will result in one leg being longer than the other. I am very sad and worried, I have even asked many surgeons but they all say either to have it delayed, or now. I made istikhara but I am still lost. Anu advice? Jazak Allah ya Khayrom
