I can relate with your feelings of tiredness. One small tip can share: Just don’t focus that you will pray Isha every day. Just commit that at least once in a week you will pray Isha. Maybe you can choose a day in a week when you are less exhausted.Eventually you will find other days to pray Isha In Sha Allah. This is how I started to pray for five times. Hope that works for you too.

I’ve been going under some fluctuations in prayer recently and I began to offer them always near the end of their time so hardly, even though I’ve been praying them passionately before, and I didn’t really understand why… However your post revived my heart again and made see clearly what I’ve been missing… Jazaki Allah Khairan and may He bless all your work.

When you come home, the first thing you do is pray, nothing else. Set your mind at the way to home that I will do anything else later but first meet my Creator. Because He is the most important. If I do anything else first then I’m depicting by my actions that Allah is not the first priority in my life. Everything else including my sleep is more dear to me than Allah.

No, I don’t want that Allah sees me like this.

The second thing is to internalise that if to pray is painful at this time cause of the tiredness, then this is a short term pain and will save you from a huge pain of regret later and punishment at the hereafter too.

The third thing is to realise that if you force yourself to pray no matter what, Allah knows each and every bit of struggle that you make and He will reward you for that. It means you get so much multiplied reward.

Lastly, keep on making dua and asking Allah’s help. When we don’t feel like praying, it’s a matter of the heart. So, some Sunnah prayers for the heart are:

يَا مُقَلِّبَ الْقُلُوبِ ثَبِّتْ قَلْبِى عَلَى دِينِكَ.
Yaa Muqallib al-quloob Thabbit Qalbee ‘alaa Deenik.

“O Turner of the Hearts, keep my heart firm upon your religion.” (Recorded in al-Tirmidhi)

يَا مُصَرِّفَ الْقُلُو بِ صَرِّفْ قَلْبِى اِلٰى طَا عَتِك
Ya Musarrif al-quloob, sarrif qalbi ila ta’atik

“ O Director of the hearts, direct my heart to obey You.”

P.S:
Try to be in the company of people who pray regularly and asks you if you’ve prayed or not.
Read some material (Books or articles on internet) on the benefits of establishing prayer and cons of leaving it.

Hope this helps.🙂

I’m usually busy/on my feet the entire shift minus a break of around 30 mins (we are allocated 2 breaks but I try to split my 2nd break into two so I can pray). I come home and am so exhausted I struggle to pray Isha, end up sleeping with the intention to pray later and then miss the prayer. Any advice of how I can improve?

Jazakumullah khair

I’ve been facing the situation a number of times and had many times gave up Salah out of depression..
InSha Allah, would surely take care to offer Salah on time after all it’s a blessing (thanks for including such great quotations from Hadith & Qur’an)
