By moderate it means, setting up realistic goals for worship and way of life.

For ex; you want to start giving charity. Don’t give up half of what you have. give little and keep the rest for your essential expenditure.

Pray Tahajjiud, but start small and then increase it slowly if u can.

So don’t go to extremes. as they burn out a person.
