I am very glad I came across your article, as I’m thinking about this topic and still can’t know where to start.
I’m in my 20s and I don’t know any of my neighbors well. I moved to that neighborhood when I was 8 , but neighbors here aren’t like my old neighbors. Everyone seems to be not interacting with others, I still meet neighbors by coincidence in the elevator whom I have never seen before.
This had always made me sad, knowing what Prophet Muhammed taught us and finding that I’m not able to apply it. But now, I’m thinking of ways to get to know neighbors in my age and work together to develop better social relations between neighbors.
Pray for me and if you can help me with some advice that would be great.

Here when our relatives fly out we always go check up on their house so movement is still visible while they’re away to scare odd any potential theives. We also stick up the fridge and pantry with essentials and cook for them breakfast (at our house not theirs!) and sometimes we do a roster so all the families our extended family cook for them which is especially important for the mum as she needs plenty of rest after long times away from her house. :)

This stuff isn’t just for moving about, when a friend gives birth or faces the death of a family member we do the cooking roster and always offer help with cleaning. It’s a beautiful thing to help your community and loved ones. May Allah strengthen us to do it for one another always.
