Another good article from you and may Allah bless you. However, Dr Nurallah has a point in spicing our articles with relevant quotes from the Qur’an and Hadeeth. One will be amazed at their wide applicability in all situations. For instance in the 4 steps you outlined above in learning something new, our own islamic scholars ( i do not have specifics for now) have also categorised the same stages in a similar fashion with slight variations and with a 5th stage involving propagation (da’wah) to benefit mankind. If we delve deeper when researching our articles (i have seen excellent ones in previous Productive Muslim articles) we will definitely find appropriate Islamic text to ground the work. The other day, i watched a TED show on approaching stress positively and the lady mentioned that finding meaning in what we do will motivate us to excel in doing otherwise stressful things. Do Muslims need do we have this meaning this meaning in whatever Halaal we do? Your guess is as good as mine. The bottom line is that knowledge is the lost property of the Believer and Western thinkers simply repackage our glorious heritage in their own way and then sell to us as an original product! Nevertheless, your articles are beneficial and only need retweeking to fit into our Islamiic context.
