I have a bad habit too compulsively checking new tweets or emails or blog traffic every several minutes. I think there’s only one solution to this : DISCONNECT and leave, and enjoy the outside world for a while and truly immerse in the moment, to let go of attachment to gadget for a while. You’re not gonna die soon if you don’t know “the latest beat” the very second you see it. Just my 2 cents….

Barakallhu feeki. My main takeaway is the need to figure things out around our own peculiarities rather than assuming everybody else’ solutions will apply to our situations. Alhamdulillah, I have never had a facebook account and I still don’t feel like I am missing much. Perhaps I am been extreme but I really do not feel any particular resentment towards social media; I just can’t be bothered to use it.
