Assalamualaikum. About negative influences… if we remain in zikr, and not allow them to provoke us.. if we recognize their toxicity, separate our hearts from them, while interacting on the surface as necessary, they cannot affect us. Don’t let their words penetrate to your heart. Like Ibn Taymiyyah said, about not letting burdensome companions reach your heart..

“…he should remove his heart from among them the way a hair is removed from dough. Among them he should be present yet absent, close yet far and asleep yet awake. He should look at them and not see them, hear their words but not be conscious of them, because he has removed his heart from among them and ascended with it to the uppermost hosts (al-mala’il-a’laa) glorifying [Allaah] around the throne along with the pure celestial spirits.
How difficult this is and trying for the souls, [yet] it is easy for whoever Allaah makes it easy. ”

ASSALAAMUALYKUM..IM JUST 18 ND IN MY OPINION I HAVE DONE QUITE A LOT OF SINS IN MY LIFE..I EVEN HAD SUICIDAL TENDENCIES BECAUSE OF MY NEGATIVE THINKING….ASTAGHFIRULLAH..AND THEN I STARTED THINKING AND LIVING A POSITIVE LIFE WHEN I KNEW THAT SUICIDE IS HARAM IN ISLAM AND ALLAH FORGIVES ALL SINS WHEN ONE REPENTS SINCERELY..SO I REPENTED AND FROM THEN ON IM LIVING AND BREATHING COMFORTABLY AS I HAVE TAWAKKAL ON ALLAH NOW..ALHUMDULILAHI RABBIL ALAMEEN..

Once, when I was listening to Hutbah, the imaam told us about one event of the Prophet’s s.a.w.s. life. It is narrated by Aisha r.a. I think, that one day Prophet s.a.w.s. heared his companions laughing outside. He went out and said to them, that if they knew what he knows, they would not be laughing, but crying. Allah s.w.t. sent angel Gebrail, to remind the Prophet s.a.w.s. that Allah s.w.t. will judge them, and that he has no right to bring hopelessness amongst His servants. After that, the Prophet s.a.w.s. went out and said to his companions to carry on with what they were doing.

This totally struck a chord because I realised that I’ve been doing it for awhile. :D Alhamdulillah I feel like I’m less of a fake now.
