That is so true. The thrill of having a new material possession wears off after awhile, and then it recedes into the background of your life just like everything else.

The sadaqah tip is great. It really works. When I have money, I usually reserve a portion for sadaqah. It’s like a blow to your nafs to keep it in check. Otherwise it keeps whispering “more, more, more!”
