Jazakallah khair!!
The above article specifically talks about people who do not have enough time to spend on exercising continuously and are living a more or less mechanically fast paced lifestyle. These people generally have a habit of looking out for fast and easy solutions to lose weight or stay fit. They mostly turn towards hard core training exercises, all of a sudden, making their body unable to cope with the sudden stress that comes along with these exercises (which have also become largely commercial these days). These are people who either look for immediate results or do not have enough time and are forced into following crash diets or intense training for short periods, both of which are absolutely not recommendable.
A rigorous gym routine out of nowhere puts a lot of stress on the body.  Looking for instant results, people tend to neglect the finer details of staying active throughout the day or eating the right type of foods. I wanted to point out that regular and frequent activities in small intervals help people burn calories at a constant rate and are easier to follow as opposed to intense physical training done irregularly. Performing small activities at regular intervals is easier to stick to in the long run and will not force your body to change its internal activity drastically over a short period of time.
I am not specifically against gym routines provided they are performed constantly and in moderation, which is difficult for a large section of the population due to time constraints, business engagements or family engagements, forcing them to follow short term gym routines that “promise” magical results. It is therefore not recommended to confuse your body with sudden training followed by a lull or sudden restriction of various foods making you crave for more, jeopardizing your internal system.
Following simple and easy steps helps your metabolic rate to click steadily and is an easier option to follow for large sections of the society, irrespective of their gender, age or health status, unlike intense gym routines which are not suitable for all sections of the society (especially the younger and older generations or pregnant women).
Hope I have cleared your doubts.  May Allah (swt) bless you!

I first wanted to say Gazaki Allah 5ayr for your efforts. I have been doing intense interval training either through the gym or sometimes through a sport but mostly through the gym and it works perfect so far in getting me fit and most importantly it energizes my days. so i wanted to know your thoughts on why you were against that type of training in the beginning of the article above where you said “The widely-advertised rigorous exercises or crash diets might not give
you the positive results your after nor your unheard of gym routine”.

Thank you…
